Summary: The Eatonville High School CTE programs I work with consists of the following classes: Video Technology and Webpage Design. As a member of Skills USA - the school club related to my Classes is referred to as VIP Media Arts. The club meets at least once a month during advisory periods and regularly before and after school, at lunches, and other random times throughout the school day. My Media Arts Lab Mr. Mladenichʼs CTE (Media Arts) Classes are truly state of the art. 25 brand new Macintosh Computers surround this High Tech Studio. The lab houses super charged Imac Computers that have been configured with the latest and greatest in Creative Media Software/Hardware (see a description of specific software/hardware/peripherals below and next page). A few of the current applications I facilitate, and students will learn, and be creating with include: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Indesign/Dreamwever/Flash), I Work, I Life, Final Cut Pro HD, I Movie HD, Livetype, DVD Studio, I DVD, Pages, Microsoft Office, Digital Sports Video, NewTech TriCaster, Apple Hardware, and much more. The lab also has a Green Room (production room) and has recently added a large format printer to enhance our graphic design/branding/printing productions. In addition, all of the camera equipment is industry standard HD. The students work on individual projects, projects in small groups and large groups. In all my classes I advocate employability skills and developing and retaining skills necessary to be successful in todayʼs society.
The EHS Video Production Class introduces students to pre - and post-production procedures, storyboard development, camera techniques, audio/video editing, computer graphics and duplicating techniques. This course of study will challenge all aspects of the video production field. The productions created in the class, will focus on EHS and the entire learning community of Eatonville. Weekly reels will be produced/created and shared with the school and community. The class will focus on promoting the many positive programs within the entire Eatonville Learning Community. Any Ideas? What's worth highlighting?
The purpose of the Graphic Design/Web Class is to learn how to plan, create, and manage professional
web pages. Students will use a variety of software, hardware, planning techniques, skills, and gathering of information to maintain professional web sites. Students will have the opportunity to learn the many components that make up web sites. Why web pages? How does the web play into our futures? How is the world wide web affecting the way we live? How is the web changing the way we publish, view, consume, and communicate in our worlds? Is it taking over the way we live?
